چکیده

Photosynthesis, as an efficient pathway for solar energy capture and utilization, has supported aerobionts billions of years. The imitation photosynthesis to construct artificial photo-enzymatic-coupling catalysis system become a powerful means solve environmental problems. After years in-depth research on this coupled system, through ingenious rational design, the synergistic effect photo- enzymatic catalyses played significant role in many different fields, including solar-driven fuel production, chiral chemical synthesis carbon dioxide fixation. Furthermore, light could also endow enzyme new possibilities. Photo-induced radical cofactor bring catalytic promiscuity enzymes, making them catalyze reactions that natural enzymes cannot. This review summarizes advances introduces its essential components, their integration application. possibilities presented by photo-induced significance expanding toolbox are discussed.

A highly active, monomeric chorismate mutase, obtained by topological redesign of a dimeric helical bundle enzyme from Methanococcus jannaschii, was investigated by NMR and various other biochemical techniques, including H/D exchange. Although structural disorder is generally considered to be incompatible with efficient catalysis, the monomer, unlike its natural counterpart, unexpectedly posses...

aqueous phase thiosulfate removal using photo catalysis

removal of thiosulfate (s2o32-, 200 mg/l) from simulated wastewater samples was investigated under varying co-pollutants and ph conditions employing the titanium dioxide (tio2) mediated photocatalysis. for thiosulfate only studies higher substrate removal was noted at lower ph with a specific trend of ph 4 > ph 7 > ph 10. furthermore, near complete thiosulfate removal was also achieved at ph 4....

Enzymatic catalysis in nonaqueous solvents.

Subtilisin and alpha-chymotrypsin vigorously act as catalysts in a variety of dry organic solvents. Enzymatic transesterifications in organic solvents follow Michaelis-Menten kinetics, and the values of V/Km roughly correlate with solvent's hydrophobicity. The amount of water required by chymotrypsin and subtilisin for catalysis in organic solvents is much less than needed to form a monolayer o...

Advances and recent trends in heterogeneous photo(electro)-catalysis for solar fuels and chemicals.

In the context of a future renewable energy system based on hydrogen storage as energy-dense liquid alcohols co-synthesized from recycled CO2, this article reviews advances in photocatalysis and photoelectrocatalysis that exploit solar (photonic) primary energy in relevant endergonic processes, viz., H2 generation by water splitting, bio-oxygenate photoreforming, and artificial photosynthesis (...

Microwave activation of enzymatic catalysis.

Microwave irradiation can be used to regulate biocatalysis. Herein, the utilization of hyperthermophilic enzymes in a microwave reactor is reported. While these enzymes are inactive at low temperatures, they can be activated with microwave irradiation. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first illustration of a specific microwave effect in enzymatic catalysis.
